Hi, I'm Samima Khan 👋

Product / UX Designer based in Canada, designing user-centred digital products across SaaS, fintech, e-commerce, and climate tech.

I design products end to end, from research and information architecture through prototyping and developer handoff, and I care about decisions that are backed by both qualitative insight and behavioural data. I hold a Master of UX Design from the University of Ottawa (2025) and a B.S. in Computer Science, so I sit comfortably between design craft and technical implementation.

What I do

  • Lead user research and usability testing, then turn findings into prioritized design decisions
  • Design wireframes, high-fidelity UI, and interactive prototypes in Figma
  • Run growth and conversion experiments, pairing qualitative insight with product analytics
  • Build and maintain design systems and reusable component libraries
  • Communicate design decisions through storytelling and stakeholder presentations

Where I've worked

  • SurveyMonkey, Product Designer, Growth Design (2024) doubled AI Survey Creator adoption from 5% to 11%, surfaced a $140K/year cost-saving acquisition opportunity through a dual-CTA signup redesign, and ran 6 signup experiments across 5+ cross-functional teams. Earned a 4-month extension based on performance.
  • CreditBook, Product Designer (2022 to 2023) redesigned 6 core financial reports based on feedback from 30+ MSMEs, lifting daily engagement by 16% across 20K+ businesses. Promoted after 6 months to lead the mobile app vertical.
  • Dastgyr, UX Design Intern (2022) designed a Buy Now Pay Later feature across 64 screens and ran a UI audit that uncovered 15+ design inconsistencies across the retailer app and seller dashboard.
  • TEAL Climate, UX Designer (2023) led brand discovery and a website redesign, delivering 4 landing pages and a reusable UI system for a carbon-accounting startup.
