About Me

It is my pleasure to meet you here. I am Zhaoji Zhang(张 兆骥 in Simplified Chinese), a graduate student from Peking University. After 4 years of hard work at Peking University, I earned a dual Bachelor of Science in Chemical Biology and Intelligence Science and Technology(also known as AI). I am persuing my Ph.D. in Integrated Life Science at Center of Life Science(CLS)@PKU-THU (2025-). I finished My curiosity about Neuroscience, especially circuit, computation, and system neuroscience, has led me to be an intern at Yatang-Li's Lab at the Chinese Institute for Brain Research, Beijing (CIBR, Beijing), and finally led me into the integrated life science program at the Center for Life Science, Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies, Peking University. I just finished the Rotation and joined Prof. Mu Zhou's lab.

My resume and my undergraduate_academic transcript are available for a deeper look into my academic journey(Although they are not updated frequently), and you can find my research profile on ORCID.

If you want to contact me, please email me at 2501111571@stu.pku.edu.cn or zhang-zj@stu.pku.edu.cn. Checking my student e-mail is one of my daily routines, so I would respond to that within around 24 hours.

Coding Languages

Most of the coding work I have done is about computer vision or Machine Learning/Deep Learning/Reinforcement Learning, thus Python is my first-choice coding language. C/C++ is used to replace some for/while loops to get higher speed, although the easiest way to use .dll files in Python, ctype, only permits basic C-style data structures. However, I noticed that Cupy and JAX show competitive efficiency with much less work recently.

I would use Python and R to do some data analysis or statistical jobs, especially for bioinformatic tasks. The R-codes are really good (and also relatively easy) at drawing beautiful scientific figures.

Rank Language Familiarity
1 Python Proficient
2 C/C++ Proficient
2 R Proficient
4 matlab Competent
5 Java beginner

  • 🔭 After working on bioplausible sensation, recently I have switched to basic muscle control and hindbrain research. They are extremely different but both basic, which may show some basic circuit structures in our brain.
  • 🌱 I’m currently learning neuroscience, computational biology, chemical biology, and artificial intelligence. Network science with RL is also interesting, and I am working on it as a term project of Advanced System Biology taught by Zhiyuan Li. I would open-source the code after development and at the end of the course.
  • 🎥 I run a WeChat public account, a Bilibili(a video platform) account, and a Zhihu account for scientific popularization. I have more than 1,000 fans, 16,000+ likes, and 800,000+ views.
  • 🧑🏽‍🎨 Sketch level 10 recognized by the CHINA ACADEMY OF ART, and I am also able to paint Gouache.
  • 🎼 Play Not bad harmonica. I plan to learn guitar/bass/violin if time permits.
  • ⚡ I am also a multilingual who can read basic German and French besides Chinese(my native language) and English, if not considered Python for its inability to communicate with giant snakes. I am willing to learn Spanish, Latin, Japanese, Arabic, or Vietnamese in the future if I have a chance.
