the install size is separate from the bundle size. the install size includes files like the readme, test files, etc... the bundle size is only the actual code you use for your specific usecase.

i might be misunderstanding though, are you noticing a difference between bundlejs's result and running the bundle locally?

After installation (npm install peer -g), it takes 14,4 MB (17 on drive).
And how can I install it to be 915 KB or 304 KB?

i see the disconnect now. so a small clarification there is a distinction between install size and bundle size, install size is what npm gives you out of the box, it's almost always a little larger that you would think, sometimes a few MBs.

With bundle size you're deciding exactly what you need from the library (in this case PeerServer), what bundlejs does is it then using esbuild under the hood strips out all the code you're not actively using so the fine artifact ends up smaller.

bundlejs only really focuses on bundle size, it doesn't really touch install size.
