Current behavior

Currently, on https://base-ui.com/ in "The fine print section", my mouse cursor does not change when hovering over the collapsible sections.

Expected behavior

My mouse cursor should change when hovering over the collapsible sections, in the same way it changes when hovering over links and buttons, to indicate the clickable nature of the elements.

What I personally notice is the mouse cursor, but I imagine there might be a deeper accessibility api/feature that needs integration.

In my opinion this is an essential accessibility feature, since it gives information about the fact that I click the element, and also specifically which part do I need to click (do I necessarily need to click on the "+"? can I just click on the text? can I click on the whitespace?)

This is by design - we only set cursor: pointer on links and not buttons (the same applies to the demos)

AFAIK this is to match the behavior of native elements and also native desktop apps

Interesting. I didn't realize that the conventions for web and native were different. I got so used to always being on the web, that I was surprised to see that indeed, buttons in native apps tend to not change the cursor...

Is there a reason for going with the native convention and not the convention that seems to be common on the web?

And in any case, what about giving some other feedback on hover for collapsible elements? It would be nice to show that the element is clickable, and to confirm where exactly I'm supposed to be clicking.
