Adobe Support Ticket: CMS Page Hierarchy Tree Not Displaying Correctly in Adobe Commerce 2.4.9

Subject

CMS Page Hierarchy tab does not display the proper tree structure in Adobe Commerce 2.4.9 — ACSD-61199 is not listed as compatible

Description

We are experiencing an issue in the Adobe Commerce Admin where the Hierarchy tab does not display the correct page tree structure when editing an existing CMS page that already belongs to a CMS hierarchy.

This behavior appears to match the Adobe-documented issue covered by patch ACSD-61199:

ACSD-61199: CMS page hierarchy tab doesn’t display proper tree structure

According to Adobe’s documentation, ACSD-61199 fixes an issue where the CMS page Hierarchy tab does not display the proper tree structure when editing a CMS page that already belongs to a hierarchy.

However, our installed version is Adobe Commerce 2.4.9, and this version is not listed in the official compatibility matrix for ACSD-61199. The patch appears to be compatible only with previous Adobe Commerce versions up to the 2.4.7 line, and the documentation indicates that the fix was expected to be included in Adobe Commerce 2.4.8.

Because our environment is already running Adobe Commerce 2.4.9, we are not applying ACSD-61199 directly, since it is outside the documented compatibility range.

Environment

  • Platform: Adobe Commerce
  • Version: 2.4.9
  • Area affected: Admin Panel
  • Feature affected: CMS Page Hierarchy
  • Related Adobe patch: ACSD-61199
  • Patch package reviewed: magento/quality-patches
  • Deployment type: Adobe Commerce Cloud
  • Environment: Staging

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Log in to the Adobe Commerce Admin.
  2. Go to Content > Pages.
  3. Open or create a CMS page that belongs to an existing CMS hierarchy.
  4. Save the CMS page.
  5. Go to Content > Hierarchy.
  6. Add or verify the page inside an existing hierarchy.
  7. Save the hierarchy.
  8. Return to Content > Pages.
  9. Edit the CMS page again.
  10. Open the Hierarchy tab.

Expected Result

The CMS page hierarchy tree should load correctly and display the proper page structure.

Actual Result

The Hierarchy tab does not display the expected tree structure correctly, or the hierarchy tree does not load as expected.

Internal Analysis

We reviewed the official Adobe documentation for ACSD-61199 and confirmed that the reported behavior appears to match the documented issue.

However, ACSD-61199 is not listed as compatible with Adobe Commerce 2.4.9. Since the installed version is outside the documented compatibility matrix, we do not consider it safe to apply this patch directly.

Applying a Quality Patch Tool patch outside its official compatibility range may introduce risks such as:

  • Regression in core CMS hierarchy behavior.
  • Conflict with fixes already included in later Adobe Commerce versions.
  • Upgrade-safety issues in future Adobe Commerce patches or releases.
  • Unsupported state from an Adobe Support perspective.

Request to Adobe Support

Please confirm the official resolution path for this issue in Adobe Commerce 2.4.9.

Specifically, we need Adobe Support to confirm:

  1. Whether the ACSD-61199 fix is already included in Adobe Commerce 2.4.9.
  2. Whether this behavior is considered a regression in Adobe Commerce 2.4.9.
  3. Whether there is a 2.4.9-compatible patch, hotfix, or recommended workaround.
  4. Whether additional diagnostics are required to determine if the issue is caused by:
    • Adobe Commerce core behavior.
    • Custom modules.
    • Third-party modules.
    • Admin UI customizations.
    • CMS hierarchy configuration/data inconsistencies.

Important Note

We are intentionally not applying ACSD-61199 directly because Adobe Commerce 2.4.9 is not listed as a compatible version for this patch.

Business Impact

The issue affects Admin users managing CMS page hierarchy. The hierarchy tree not loading correctly can prevent proper validation or maintenance of CMS navigation structures.

Requested Outcome

We need Adobe Support to provide an official confirmation and recommended next step for Adobe Commerce 2.4.9, including whether a compatible patch or workaround is available.
